A physical therapist is a healthcare provider who helps you improve how your body performs physical movements. They’ll help you manage symptoms like pain, stiffness and discomfort.

Many people work with a physical therapist while they’re recovering from an injury or surgery. But rehabilitation (rehab) isn’t the only time you might work with a physical therapist. They can help you move more confidently and safely to treat certain health conditions or prevent injuries.

Alison Aldcroft (Owner/ Physical Therapist) graduated from the University of Western Ontario (London, Ontario, Canada) in 1991. She has done extensive postgraduate coursework and has years of diverse clinical experience including Spinal Cord Rehab, Acute Care, Wound-Care and for the last 20 years, out-patient neuro, orthopedics and Pelvic Health.

Alison is now almost exclusively working with pelvic health clients. She has received hands-on and lab course training in Male and Female Pelvic Floor conditions. This includes therapy for pre/post-op prostatectomies, incontinence, overactive bladder and pelvic floor pain. In addition to manual therapy, she utilizes SEMG Biofeedback and Real Time Ultrasound for pelvic floor muscle training. Alison has been trained in the use of Softwave / Shockwave Therapy. She utilizes this new technology in the treatment of Orthopedic and Pelvic floor conditions.

In her spare time, Alison is a professional singer and keyboard player in the local blues band “Tell Mama.” She has also performed onstage in local productions at Diamond Head Theater (“Donna Sheridan” in “Mamma Mia!”) and Manoa Valley Theater.
